TERRA EMPLOYEES BANNED FROM LEAVING THE COUNTRY BY SOUTH KOREAN PROSECUTORS

Having charged Do Kwon with fraud and other crimes, South Korean prosecutors have banned Terraform Labs employees from leaving the country, according to a report by local media outlet JTBC on June 20.

The ban was imposed to prevent the employees from fleeing the country thereby avoiding investigation, according to JTBC.

The departure ban was levied by The Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the ongoing investigation against Terraform Labs for its role as regards the collapse of TerraUSD(UST).

It was reported by JBTC that Terra founder and CEO Do Kwon is currently residing in Singapore. And so the prosecutor’s office is looking to first invalidate Kwon’s passport before investigating further. Prosecutors are also monitoring the situation to completely ascertain if Kwon and other Terra employees can be charged with crimes such as fraud.

Daniel Hong, a former developer at Terra has pointed out that the travel ban covers even former employees of Terra. This he said via his Twitter handle.
