The world’s richest man Elon Musk recorded a significant surge in his wealth as he made as much as the total estimated wealth of Aliko Dangote. As data from the Forbes billionaire watchlist on Tuesday 21st of June showed that he made $14.5 billion within 8 hours.

The amount is more than Dangote’s total wealth of $13.9 billion who is the 65th richest man in the world. The majority of Dangote’s fortune is derived from his 86% stake in publicly-traded Dangote Cement according to Bloomberg which generated a revenue of $3.4 billion in 2021.

Dangote is also involved in sugar, salt, oil, fertilizer, and packaged food. His stakes in the publicly traded companies are held directly and through Dangote Industries, which also owns closely held business operations in food manufacturing, fertilizer, oil, and other industries.

Dangote remains the richest man in Africa but he lost N105.33 billion recently which made him drop by 5 places on the billionaire list.
